Q. What led you to the development of The BluePrint?
 
A. Mostly frustration. Frustration over the fact that people (myself included) weren't seeing the results they could from week to week and month to month. I mean, there are dozens of good programs out there (and even more bad ones!). My question was, how do I weed through all this information? What do I do after I find something that works, but then it stops working? Every program/diet only works as long as it takes your body to adapt to it. I wondered what were the odds I'd find enough of these gems and somehow couple them together to keep progress going?  
 
That could take years, and thousands of dollars. No thanks.
 

Q. So where did you go from there?
 
A. Like many people, I thought the answer resided in bodybuilding supplements. In particular, I became fascinated with one called ecdysterone. I always got something off of it with a few certain brands, but not others, and wanted to know why. I started to seriously research it, and at first zeroed in on its mechanism of action. What I found was something that worked via multiple pathways in the body; increased protein synthesis, glycogen storage, ATP substrate storage, anti-oxidant effects, etc. In fact, the mechanism of action was so broad that it was difficult to know where to focus my research going forward. That all changed after tracking down key chemists and trainers who had worked directly with Olympic athletes and others taking the stuff. 
 

Q. So they were doing something "different" in order to get the most out of these bodybuilding supplements?
 
A. Yes, very different! What was eventually revealed was that the integrated training and dietary environment those particular bodybuilding supplements were being placed in was crucial. It explained perfectly why athletes in this country were not getting close to optimum results. The information I uncovered goes way beyond the "take 5mg per kg of bodyweight for 6-8 weeks and eat higher protein" typically espoused. In fact, the framework they were using to optimize results can be applied to just about any bodybuilding supplement... or no supplement at all! Most important, it allowed the athletes to gain what I call "traction" on a regular basis. It's this traction that results in real muscle gains. The kind of muscle that sticks around.
 
In this country, substantial progress usually comes in spurts (if it comes at all). It's all very hit or miss, and you never truly understand why. They understood why and ran trial after trial to map out a strategic and proven plan to gain the most traction, necessary to reap BIG rewards on a consistent basis.
 
Now this made sense to me. IF you choose to take bodybuilding supplements, you make them work. Your body. They don't do the heavy work for you.

Study these people. Observe how many stay in the game for any real length of time. Ask them to explain to you how to trigger, amplify and extend a state of muscle growth, how to maintain it and how to do it again, over and over.
 
That blank stare should tell you something.
 
 
Q. Where is the typical trainee at, particularly those not using drugs?
 
A. Lost, and they know it. Way too much time wasted in non-productive training and just hoping that latest-greatest superstar course or bodybuilding supplement will do the trick. I'm sorry to say this but it's true; hoping isn't going to get it done.
 
People not willing to take the steroid route deserve results, and not just "ok" results either. Big results are what matter. In order to get them though, you must have a thorough understanding of your body's physiology and how to "manipulate" it to wring out every last bit of muscular growth. You also shouldn't have to break the bank, but you WILL need to break a sweat. That's just the honest truth.
